Norman Rankow was born and raised in New York City. He attended the State University of New York at Farmingdale on Long Island and graduated with the degree of Associate in Applied Science. Then in 1978 he attended and graduated from the Long Island Builders Institute.
After college Norman worked for Contractors Supply Corp. in Long Island City covering the five boroughs of New York City, selling equipment to construction companies for waste handling, scrap operations, and other related businesses to both large and small contractors.
Norman founded Colonial Reproductions, Inc. in 1978 on Martha’s Vineyard where he had summered as a child with his parents in the 60’s. Over the past 45+ years, he has built the business to the size it is today and is honored to be considered one of the premier & award winning General Contracting firms on Martha’s Vineyard.

Melanie Rankow Prescott was born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard. She returned fulltime to work in the family business after graduating from Quinnipiac University with her BS in Business Management & Entrepreneurship in 2006. She has been the head of Client Relations working directly with our clients and their decorators to aid in all aspects of the customers selections, in addition to acting as the vice president of Colonial Reproductions overseeing all business operations and project onboarding.
Melanie was actively involved in the Edgartown Board of Trade from 2009 – 2014 volunteering on the committees for the Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival, Christmas in Edgartown and the Pink & Green Weekend. She also sat on the Board of Directors and was appointed Treasurer for a three-year term during that time.
Melanie received her Real Estate Salesperson’s license in 2015 and is honored to be a part of the O'Hanlon Group | Compass team here on Martha's Vineyard.
She and her husband Nick live in Edgartown with their two children.
Rebecca Rabeni has been with Colonial Reproductions since May of 2015. Prior to her time here, she has worked for several non-profits and marketing agencies across the Island. She has also worked as the Program Director for the MV Chamber of Commerce and been the Dining Room Manager at the Vineyard Golf Club.
Rebecca has been living year round on Island since 2002 with husband, Anthony, and 2 children, who attended the Edgartown School and MVRHS. She has and is always actively involved in the various extracurriculars the island offers youths, including the MV Figure Skating Club and several High School athletic teams.
Rebecca grew up in a small rural town in Central Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant Management. From there she moved to Washington, D.C. where she trained and worked with Hyatt Hotel Corporation.
Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, traveling and attending “foodie” events.
Gabriella Hoxsie, a Martha's Vineyard native, attended Edgartown school and comes from a family deeply rooted in the island community. She graduated from Martha's Vineyard Regional High School and earned her Bachelor's in Psychology followed by a Master's in Organizational Management from Boston College, focusing on Corporate Communications and Marketing.
Transitioning into marketing, Gabby began her career at Digitas North America, managing paid social campaigns for Bank of America. She later joined Compass, advising real estate professionals in New England, including Martha's Vineyard.
Reconnecting with a former client, Melanie Rankow Prescott, Gabby returned to Martha's Vineyard and joined Colonial Reproductions in 2023. As part of the client relations team, she facilitates interior decisions, bridging clients, decorators, and trades, and finds passion in her work alongside the CR team and clients.

Norman is currently serving as the President and Chairman of the Martha's Vineyard Boys and Girls Club Board. This past December MV Youth generously pledged $1 Million to the ongoing capital campaign for the new Boys and Girls Club Facilities.
